Sepeda ini saya dapatkan sekitar 3 tahun yang lalu dengan kondisi yang cukup memprihatinkan . Beberapa Original partsnya sudah banyak yang hilang, bahkan joknya saja terbuat dari papan plywood yang dibungkus oleh bantalan kulit, seperti gambar yang terlihat dibawah nanti. Cat sudah ditiban oleh warna biru. Jadi sangat susah untuk mempertahankan warna cat aslinya yaitu Merah Candytone. Oleh sebab itu saya putuskan untuk merestore Ulang secara keseluruhan sepeda ini berbarengan dengan mencari (hunting) spareparts aslinya.

Saya mendapatkan beberapa Part Nosnya seperti; Hub belakang 3+2 / 5 Speed dari salah seorang kenalan saya di Singapore seharga +/- 2 jt rupiah untuk 1 set Hub belakangnya saja.

Saya jadi lebih bersemangat lagi setelah saya berkenalan dengan salah satu Kolektor Muscle Bike dari US America, Builder yang sangat profesional dalam urusan merestore Raleigh Chopper dan Muscle Bike pada umumnya. Dia bernama Jim "Jimbo" Barnard, yang mana beliau mempunyai museum Muscle Bike di Amerika yang terkenal dengan nama "Nemuscycle" ; dikarenakan banyaknya sepeda yang sudah dia koleksi terutama sepeda Muscle bike dari berbagai macam merk yang pernah diproduksi didunia, amerika pada umumnya. Sedikit cerita; beliau pernah mendapatkan penghargaan dari Raleigh Chopper Owner Club Inggris, karena beliau memiliki Raleigh Chopper dengan no seri terkecil yang pernah diproduksi didunia.

Mulailah saya sering berkonsultasi dengannya dan dari perkenalan ini, saya mendapatkan lagi beberapa Part NOS Raleigh Chopper seperti HandGrips MK1, Bolts and Nuts NOS dan lainnya.

First American Woman to Ride the Cannonball Run

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has published a press release from the Cannonball Run issued December 21, 2009. Here's an excerpt:

"Three-time Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee and author of the newly published book, The American Motorcycle Girls: 1900–1950, Cristine Sommer-Simmons today announced that she will be riding in the Motorcycle Cannonball Run next year. Sommer-Simmons will be one of only two women riders in the cross-country endurance run of the century. The Motorcycle Cannonball Run is gathering momentum to launch a pack of riders on vintage motorcycles for an historic ride across America in September 2010."

Polar Bear Grand Tour - The Cabin
